Mizuhiki Art Workshop

May 27 @ 1:00 pm 2:30 pm PDT

Join us for a Mizuhiki Art Workshop celebrating Asian Heritage Month! Mizuhiki is a traditional Japanese paper craft that uses colorful ornamental cords to create meaningful and elegant designs. For over 1,200 years, it has been used to decorate gifts and envelopes for special occasions such as births, weddings, longevity celebrations, and festivals.

In this workshop, you will learn about Mizuhiki with our instructor Sachie and have the opportunity to create your own Mizuhiki design in a form of your choice, such as earrings, hair ties, hair clips, hairpins and keychains.

Mizuhiki is more than just a beautiful craft—it is believed to symbolize the connection between people, with each design carrying its own special meaning. In celebration of Asian Heritage Month, we invite you to join us in engaging in cultural exchange, learning, and community connection!

Registration for this workshop is now FULL – but contact us to join the waitlist and to be notified about future upcoming workshops and events: office@richmondwomenscentre.org or 604 279 7060.
