Recap — Sip & Learn: A Celebration of Hong Kong Culture with Hong Kong Milk Tea and Lemon Tea

We were thrilled to welcome our friends Jan and Claudia from Teakan company for a special “Sip and Learn” workshop about the intangible cultural heritage associated with Hong Kong style Milk Tea and Hong Kong style Lemon Tea. We learned about the history, the preparation method and so much more.

For some, this was a chance to experience a cherished tradition with old and new friends. For others, it was new learning (and tasting!) and a chance to experience more about Hong Kong culture. Isn’t this one of the best ways to build community – to spend time together, get to know each other and share our traditions?

It was interesting, fun and delicious! Both the HK milk tea and lemon tea from @teakan were perfect – so very tasty! We also had a chance to sample some traditional pastries at teatime – like egg tarts and pineapple buns and chat and laugh together.

We even found a HK milk tea flavored macaron from @daangocakelab – we couldn’t resist adding those in as a takeaway gift to our BC Day holiday participants.

Heartfelt thanks to Jan and Claudia from Tea Kan Company for another excellent and highly enjoyed workshop! Teakan Company believes that tea is a catalyst to help everyone slow down and enjoy each moment – and we certainly did that this weekend!
